Description
The Avro Vulcan that attempted a landing at the opening of Rongotai airport, Wellington in 1959. Its left main bogie clipped the bank and broke backwards, the pilot applied full power and climbed his lame bird away and flew 100 miles north to crash land at Ohakea. I was there at Ohakea and saw the landing that day so Ive done this acrylic painting in remembrance of the event.
